Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula the Sea Witch at Underbelly Bristo Square

Updated: Aug 18, 2019

What Is It?

Fat Rascal bring their usual comedic flair to this brilliant musical parody that exposes the untold truth of Ursula The Sea Witch of The Little Mermaid fame.

What Is It All About?

Fat Rascal are fast becoming one of the biggest musical comedy companies in the UK. So it is no surprise that Unfortunate is one of their best shows yet.

Robyn Grant absolutely outdoes herself in the title role, belting out this show's brilliant score.

The story is the one we already know, but slightly different. Once a suitor for Prince Triton, Ursula was falsely accused of an evil doing, and was banished from the Kingdom of Atlantica. But, twenty years on the kingdom is danger, and Ursula is the only one who can save them.

How Did It Make Me Feel?

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Katie Wells is hilarious as the loud mouthed, bubble brained Ariel, as is Steffan Rizzi as King Triton and the erratic Scuttle.

The music is not quite Disney (but sort of is) which is a total credit to Tim Gilvin (composer) , Daniel Foxx (writer/lyricist) and Grant herself.

The powerhouse that is Allie Munro also delights as the Irish talking crab Sebastian, and Jamie Mawson is thoroughly strange as the flute playing Prince Erik.

A contained set and use of bright coloured puppets just reiterates the talent of the company and will keep the already huge fan base happy as well as new fans coming back.

Anything Else?

Fat Rascal does it again. This show is a true delight!!
